We purchased a new Anderson double French door to replace a very aging original French door. I would not recommend this door, it has been a maintenance problem from about the first year. The door itself is really quality, both doors swing open and latch shut very securely. The problem began with the hinges, they are adjustable to keep the door in alignment and readjust with a hex wrench if necessary, and therein lies the problem, they are constantly going out of alignment. I had to readjust the hinges at least once a month.

The next problem was in 2015 I noticed the outside of the doors were delaminating, of course the doors were 3 years out of warranty. I called my Anderson Window installer, he checked it out and told me I would have to buy 2 new door panels, $1000 plus $400 for installation. I ordered the new panels and stained them myself to save several hundred dollars. I also ordered all new hinges, they told me the new hinges were much better.

The new doors are in and they look beautiful, guess what, I have already had to adjust the new hinges to keep the door from binding.

When you spend over $3000 for a Anderson Window French door you do not expect this kind of problem. I would never by a door from them again. I now have almost $5000 invested in this door.
