This page shows the quick disconnect I use

I live in an area where frequent thunder and lightning storms occur. I am constantly unhooking my antennas so I wanted a quick disconnect solution. I have thought about an outside disconnect box that I could remotely control but for now these will do. I have not been able to find a good quality unit except for the two I have, the rest are cheap Chinese junk.

Here are 2 types of disconnects, the one on the left a very high quality unit as I will show. I only have two of the ones on the left so I bought a few online, total junk. Notice the longer connector barrel on the left one. The left is not only longer but fit very snugly on the antenna connectors on the bulkhead.

I have changed positions so you can see the extra length on the threaded a area. When you try to connect to the one on the right you will find that it is not firmly seated due to the short length, this is not good for high power.

This will show the better quality insulation on the left.

This is what I find total junk, the one on the left has a center connector that unscrews. This was constantly coming loose causing all kinds of problems. The one on the left is a solid one piece unit.

One final picture to show the insulation and connector. The left is far superior and works great.
